With the aim of supporting needy and vulnerable families who had lost their daily income due to prohibitory orders imposed by the government to control the spread of coronavirus, Aaviyanta Foundation launched a Food package distribution program.
The Covid Relief Fund also provided relief service to the marginalized and low income segment of the society affected by distributing free grocery and hygiene kits.
The prohibitory orders imposed by the government to prevent and control the spread of Coronavirus, left thousands of daily-wage earners jobless. They lost their daily income and were struggling to manage two meals a day. They are more concerned about hunger than fear of COVID-19.
This was done in cooperation with Lions club of Kathmandu social friends, Food packages were distributed which could support them for a month to 21 families of Daily-wage earners of Bansbari, outskirts of Kathmandu during lockdown. The initiation of this “Free food package distribution” project was our small effort to ease the hardships of people affected badly by the COVID-19 Lockdown.
